Crosshair Not Showing? Fix It in a Minute

Nine times out of ten the cause is exclusive fullscreen. Switch your game to borderless or windowed mode and the free overlay reappears.

Fix it in four steps

  1. Step 1 Switch the game out of exclusive fullscreen.

Open the game's video settings and choose Borderless, Windowed Fullscreen, or Windowed โ€” the exact label varies per game.

  2. Step 2 Toggle overlay visibility.

Press your overlay toggle hotkey once. If visibility was switched off accidentally, this brings the marker straight back.

  3. Step 3 Check opacity and color.

A marker set to very low opacity or a color matching the map looks missing. Raise opacity and pick a contrasting color.

  4. Step 4 Restart the app, then the game.

Quit Epic Crosshair fully, relaunch it, then start the game. Fresh launches re-pin the overlay on top.

Not-showing questions

Why does exclusive fullscreen hide the overlay?

Exclusive fullscreen gives the game direct control of the display, so Windows stops compositing outside windows on top โ€” including the overlay. Borderless and windowed modes keep compositing on.

The overlay shows on desktop but not in game. Why?

The game is almost certainly in exclusive fullscreen. Change its display setting to borderless or windowed, then alt-tab once so the overlay re-pins on top.

It worked yesterday and stopped today. What changed?

Usually a game update reset the display mode to exclusive fullscreen, or the overlay visibility hotkey got pressed by accident. Re-check both before reinstalling anything.
